Ich habe einen guten Beitrag auf Searchenginemarketing.co.uk gefunden in dem Ben 10 SEO Experten (darunter Rand Fishkin, DazzlinDonna, Joost de Valk, Aaron Wall etc) zwei Fragen zum Thema Pagerank Sculpting befragt hat.

Pagerank Sculpting ist kurz gesagt der Einsatz von nofollow Tags bei der internen Verlinkung um die Linkliebe auf die wichtigsten Seiten zu leiten und nicht auf unnütze Seiten wie das Impressum, AGB oder Kontaktformulare. Wer mehr darüber erfahren will kann sich beim SEOnauten einen relativ langen, aber guten Beitrag dazu durchlesen.

Die beiden Fragen zum Thema waren:

Question 1. Do you use “rel=nofollow” on internal site structure for your sites and or clients?

Question 2. Do you think the use of “rel=nofollow” tags internally is a giant red flag to Google that on its own, or in combination with other flags, might cause a penalty or problems?

Die Antworten sind recht interessant und auch ausführlich, deshalb ist der Artikel wirklich lesenswert. Ebenfalls in dem Artikel wird ein Interview von Rand Fishkin mit Matt Cutts vom August 2007 zitiert:

“Does Google recommend the use of nofollow internally as a positive method for controlling the flow of internal link love?”

“The nofollow attribute is just a mechanism that gives webmasters the ability to modify PageRank flow at link-level granularity. Plenty of other mechanisms would also work (e.g. a link through a page that is robot.txt’ed out), but nofollow on individual links is simpler for some folks to use. There’s no stigma to using nofollow, even on your own internal links…”

Also ich sehe keine Gefahr bei der Nutzung von nofollow bei der internen Verlinkung und nutze dies auch, da ich nicht interessiert daran bin für Impressum, Kontakt oder AGB zu ranken. Wie sieht es mit euch aus? Nutzt ihr Pagerank Sculpting um eure Linkliebe in die richtige Richtung zu lenken oder ist es euch egal?
